These budget synths from the 1980s never really made it out of the DX7’s shadow during their time, but it’s no secret among synth geeks that their phase distortion synthesis is actually a blast to play with, and they’re now highly sought-after. And it’s this segment of the V Collection that sees a promising new addition: The CZ V, an emulation of the Casio CZ-101 and CZ-1000. Later, they began to add emulations of iconic digital instruments like the Synclavier and DX7. And of course, all of the classics like the Minimoog V, ARP 2600 V, Prophet V, and SEM V are still there in V Collection 7. Emulations of classic analog and digital synthesizers were what got Arturia started, long before the company expanded to controllers and hardware synths like the MiniBrute and MicroFreak. ![]()
